I wouldn’t make a comic about this if I didn’t see it with my own two eyes. Who would live in New York long enough that they have a frying pan but not some kind of brush or scraper to clean the snow off their car with?

If you’re not living on the East coast or have been living in a hole we’ve been getting quite a bit snow this Winter. Ever since this Christmas weekend storm it seems like it’s snowed at least once a week. It’s snowing again right now and projections were for 4-8 inches.
I love snow and would love it even if I had to shovel it. As long as I’m in a place like Brooklyn where it accumulates and doesn’t turn to brown sludge I like looking at it and how pretty it looks covering trees and stuff. Of course since the city botched that first big snow storm so badly they seem to have been on top of it ever since, hopefully they keep it up.

I was watching “How I Met Your Mother” yesterday and My 9 news interrupted both episodes to tell me that it was going to snow. Thanks.

Hopefully by the time you read this we made it to Boston without any incident. We really dodged the bullet on this weather. We were going back and forth a bit for when we were going to Boston and settled on Tuesday. Good thing too, because the Bolt Buses for Monday were call canceled because of the weather. Hopefully the driver drove safe and it didn’t take an absurdly long amount of time to get there.

We passed a guy who rather hopelessly was eyeing his car. He jokingly said “Wanna help me dig out my car?”
Yesterday’s comic turned out to be even more of an understatement than I thought when I first wrote it. Estimates were that we got hit by 20 inches of snow. But looking at the sidewalks you could’ve told me we got hit with three feet of snow and I’d believe it. We took a short walk and saw many a stuck car and some cars get stuck while we were out.
There was one of those trucks which is a driving billboard that we saw, and by the time we got home, it had only moved two blocks at best. I was kind of disappointed that the snow wasn’t actually good for making snowballs (the snow on our window sill was perfect because it had been in the sun which made it more shapeable) but it was still fun to walk through the snow and make some new footsteps.

Growing up in the suburbs of Boston meant that my school had a number of snow days built into their school year because it was just inevitable. This meant that as soon as there was any talk of snow that meant hoping it snowed a lot so I’d get the day off. Once there was the indication there was going to be any accumulation at all it meant a ritual of watching the weather until bedtime, then watching the school closings in the morning.
Later on when the schools implemented a system where we could call their telephone “snow line” that meant waking up early to check if it had been updated yet. I’m guessing schools now just use the internet and/or have some kind of Twitter that you could see the instant it was updated.
But since I live in a city now and don’t have to shovel (or work currently) that means staying in the comfort of my apartment and watching the pretty snow fall. Then later when the weather is on TV is when I’ll realize that there’s going to be actual significant accumulation.

The kids in the courtyard outside our window can be very very loud. Anna was saying that soon it will probably be too cold outside for them to play. Immediately after she said that I pictured myself like a Bond villain stroking a cat looking down upon the kids saying that in a villanous voice that ended up being more Mr. Burns than anything.

I’m very guilty of this because A) I like using my phone and B) it’s extra fun because my phone is very fast. I have several windows that work perfectly fine, yet I still go for the phone to get a feel of what the weather is like when in actuality opening the window would give me a better idea of what I need to wear when I go out.

Not sure it’s entirely clear from my drawing, but the water actually ricocheted off the umbrella on to the people. Credit for this one goes to my friend JM who is the one who did this while standing next to some people who weren’t quite as quick on the draw

I wish this were the case, but this week is going to be humid as all heck. If it’s not raining it’s going to be on the verge of raining which is even worse than rain. I was in the subway before kung fu yesterday, and I could literally see the sweat dripping off my head. Since I work out regularly I sweat very easily, especially when it’s freakin’ humid like it was yesterday. The temperature was actually great yesterday, but the humidity meant that during kung fu I was sweating like a cartoon character who just ate a bunch of hot peppers. Ew.
