I was walking down the street with my girlfriend jokingly saying “we’re not moving into this building… this building either…” based on whether or not the snow in front was shoveled away after the recent snowstorm. The night of the snow the front of my building was totally clear, and the following morning it was still clear with no black ice out in front. My super wins.

I guess Winter is the time to check out all the dog urination hotspots. Then again, I bet they change all the time because they have to mark new areas. When you really think about it though, there’s probably not an inch of the sidewalk that hasn’t been touched by the urine of a dog or person some point throughout history.

I wrote this strip on Monday night, but if the weather holds up its end of the bargain it’s a ridiculously warm 62° today. Seriously, this is ridiculous. Isn’t it supposed to be 20° or something? At least 30′s I’d say but instead the rest of the week it’s going to be in the 40s. Times like this I try to remember in “An Inconvenient Truth” which parts of New York would be underwater if the Earth’s temperature went up a couple degrees.

Okay so technically the first snow was this past weekend. My mom sent me an email saying she heard there were around six inches in New York. As far as I knew it snowed and melted right away. As I type this it’s vaguely snowing again and there’s a powdering of accumulation on cars. Why I thought of that last panel is beyond even me.
Yes I also realize that it implies New York’s sun is different from the rest of the world’s. When I was a freshman in college I always theorized that the reason New York’s weather was so crazy was due to it having a prototype climate control system that had a lot of bugs in it.

Thank you weather for toying with me and possibly prolonging my cold. Wednesday was almost 70° supposedly then Thursday was in the 60s and got colder in the evening. Then all of a sudden we have this crazy sleet storm. When I saw that on my weather widget I figured “Oh, well it’s been so warm it’ll just be a little and it’ll melt almost right away.” Yeah, last night I was trudging through snow that was at least three inches deep and now all the sidewalks have really deep puddles at their corner. Also Friday morning I woke up with the sniffles even though the night before I was basically fine. Now I’m blowing my nose like there’s no tomorrow and still coughing. SUCKS! Most. Backwards. Cold. Ever.

It’s hard to tell in this photo but it’s snowing pretty hard. Probably the hardest it’s snowed so far all season.

And to think that if the office I worked in didn’t have windows I wouldn’t have know that it snowed yesterday at all because by the time I got out it was drizzling and the sidewalks were all wet. I think the phrase of this Winter is “You know I don’t know if global warming exists BUT…” Then you’d follow up the sentence with something like “It’s 50 degrees on New Years” or “I just went jogging yesterday without a shirt.”

Yesterday was actually cold and it’s supposed to be 40 and below through Friday but then it’s back to the 50s!!!??? Will someone remind the world it’s supposed to be cold now. 40 degrees is just the beginning of hat weather for me which means anything above is for the most part just fine with a scarf. I’m not really complaining because I like milder weather. Whether it’s global warming or just unseasonable warmth I don’t know.
