I wonder if it’s possible to find a statistic on how much hair is pulled out by subway car advertisements when people lean into them.

I was going down the stairs to the Canal Street Q subway platform when my hand on the railing encountered a liquid. Never a good thing, Canal street of all places. Moral of the story, touch as little as possible when using New York City Transit.

I went to see Superman Returns with friends after Japanese class yesterday, and since there wasn’t much time to get food we picked up stuff at Whole Foods. I got this tandoori chicken wrap thing that ended up giving me a really bad stomach ache that plagued me during the entire two and a half hour film. Even as I write this now my stomach still isn’t feeling that good, but I’m sure it’ll be better by tomorrow morning. When will I ever learn to follow my instincts? This time they were saying “There’s no way this wrap can be anything but something to fill your stomach, it’s really not going to be good.”
After I got out of the movie I went to the bathroom, of course all the stalls were full. When it came my turn this very unkempt man walked out but I didn’t pay any attention, that is, until I actually was in the stall. It’s almost as if the B.O. was lying in wait for me there refusing to leave the stall. Needless to say I didn’t stay long and got out as soon as possible.
If you want to read what I thought of the movie, go to my LJ.

I’m going to be away this weekend with virtually no internets connection to speak of, so preparations have been made.
Have a good Memorial Day weekend.

I haven’t reached this stage yet because lugging this 40 lb monstrosity is a weekend endeavor complete with cab ride to Manhattan. In the past I have used my cart with bungee cords to bring it in, but I don’t think I’ll feel like doing that when I decide to bring it into the store. I think Jonathan Ive is a rich enough guy that he can just design Apple products without having to deal with nitty gritty details of actually using them. The handles on the G5 might as well not be there at all because it’s metal with sharp edges. Of course it is actually better that they’re there, but no one is going to want to use them for any extended period of time.
I don’t understand, since Apple already went through some changes with the handles on the computers in the past that they’re going through it again. My G4 has these plastic grooves on the handles that make it uncomfortable to hold. Two generations later on the quicksilver G4 they finally got them to be smooth, but now we’re worse off than when we started.
An amusing link my friend Mark likes to point out to me when he gets the chance is the Knowledge Base instructions on the offical Apple website on How to Pick Up your iMac G5. I think the notoriety of this article is roughly equivalent to the disclaimer on the iPod Shuffle page that said “Do not eat the iPod Shuffle.” It looks like that’s since been removed.

This is a horrible, horrible way to start the day, but I do admit that it really does help you up on those days when it’s cloudy outside and it feels like there are still three or four hours left before you have to wake up. I’d say a good muscle spasm or waking up five minutes before you have to leave for work are some of the most effective ways of waking up in the morning. Though the latter has a lot to do with the type of person you are. I’m the type who will throw on clothes, forgo shower and just jet out of the house. This doesn’t work if you’re one of those people who thinks that once you’re late being a little later doesn’t matter.
This actually hasn’t happened to me in a while, but when I was exercising today I had a crazy spasm in my left calf muscle which really sucks. There was a period of time when I wouldn’t stretch in the morning because so many times that’s how I had gotten muscle spasms in my feet or legs. I think since it’s stopped since I started exercising.
