I realize there should be crazy complex shadows in this, but I’m just not at the level of technical expertise to do this yet, plus the whole laziness factor helps out in that too.
I should’ve taken a picture of the entrace to the garden so I could at least approximate what the actual entrance looks like even if I chose not to fill in any background behind fences at all. Actually, I think it’s pretty big with a gate or something, but it’s too late now. I’m a big fan of these kind of places where if you just pay a little attention you can see repeating patterns in people.
I didn’t actually see this when I left, but when you’re walking around the garden and you see kids running around like crazy you just know that a lot of them are probably sleeping through dinner. One of my cousins has a son who has a lot of energy because he’s around four years old. I’d say during 99% of the dinners I’ve had with them, he’s asleep by the end of it.
I went to the Brooklyn Public Library for the first time yesterday. I realized that I’ve lived here for over two years and haven’t even set foot inside of it. Actually, I haven’t set foot in any library in a very long time. There wasn’t anything in particular I was looking for, I just thought that it was something that I should do. Maybe sometime later I’ll get a library car and actually take something out. The building is very impressive, but either I was missing a floor or two, but it didn’t actually seem that big once I got inside.
I’ve only been the Brooklyn Museum twice since I’ve been living in New York. The first time was during the “Sensation” art exhibit, and another time when they had some weird Asian American art. I walked past it fairly recently and there’s all this weird stuff that’s been added to the front that makes it looks kind of hideous really. The main building has the traditional pillars, but now they have all these glass windows the metal frames that just makes no sense to me. It looks as if they took a cruise liner and stuck it in the front of the building.
These rooftops are scary because there’s no fence or of any kind. Most of them just slope upwards slightly to the edge. Some of them don’t even slope, it’s just an edge. Still, I’d love roof access. I would so love roof access. That’s on my list of things I’d want for my next amazing apartment.
How can you not take a picture of something like this? I saw this and thought it was freakin’ brilliant. To my knowledge that sticker is still there.
