This is pretty much verbatim what I said the moments after I bought car insurance. It’s super easy to do these things nowadays, but it still marked some uncharted territory for me. Insurance is one of those things that growing up you probably don’t have much understanding of, just that it’s an adult sort of matter.

I’d say a few of the previous milestones of my adulthood thus far include: taking plane rides on my own, paying rent, utility bills, and getting a job. But it’s almost shocking how far you can just coast as an adult without doing “adult-like” things. I mean, once you have an apartment and job, and have no kids, you can just keep going and buying all the toys that you want. You assume as a kid that adults somehow just “know” these things but truth is most of us don’t until we absolutely have to.
