I finally gave mys notice to my job and at the end of January I’m off to San Diego!
Long story short, Anna got her dream job making plush toys for her favorite video game devs The Behemoth FULL TIME. If you’re not familiar with them, they made the side scrolling shooter game Alien Hominid, the massively popular beat ‘em up game Castle Crashers and the upcoming game Battleblock Theater
You can read the full details of her getting the job here. But for years now Anna has been making plush versions of their characters and giving to them whenever she saw them at conventions like PAX. Then this most recent PAX Prime they offered her a FULL TIME JOB making plush prototypes for them! It’s quite literally her dream job. When we were unemployed knew that if I asked her if she could have ANY job in the world even if the position didn’t exist, it would be to make plush for The Behemoth full time. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and I knew that she had to take it!
I keep telling my friends that if it were for any other reason I would never leave New York. We both love the city, our friends (of course), the food, the convenience etc. But you know what? Sometimes you have to go where life takes you.
So what does this mean for Kick in the Head? Well, it’s going to continue! Heck, just saying goodbye to New York will provide me with hundreds of comics alone. I’ve visited San Diego already and know that comparisons between the cities will give me hundreds more. Despite its relocation the comic will continue to be from a New Yorker’s perspective because it’s from my perspective. It will evolve as I evolve, and I hope it’ll be entertaining in the process.
So the next month or so will be an extended goodbye to New York as we get ready for our big move to the West Coast O_O
I also want to give a special thanks John Baez and Dan Paladin of The Behemoth for giving Anna this tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to life in a new city!
New York will always be in my heart, and perhaps someday I shall return to its delis, pizza and bagels. Oh god I already miss the bagels.

YOUR Anna is the one who makes those sushi Castle Crashers things!?! Haha, awesome. I freaking love the Behemoth
Congratulations to the both of you, and thank you for the entertainment you’ve given us. It’s great to know that the comic will be continuing.
Happy Holidays and here’s hoping your move goes smoothly (even if it still is over a month away)..
Hehe yep that’s her! I eat all those bento boxes, take the photos etc ^_^
Thanks! I’m really looking forward to all the comic material. It’ll be like a rebirth of the comic in a number of ways.
You better keep the awesome comic up!!
Send congratz to her getting that job! Everyone loves something, but when they get to do it for a living its the best thing that can happen! Take care and be safe on the move too!
I’m curious as to how you will work in your character moving? What will be =his= motivation to move?
I’m not gonna bother creating a new story. I’m just going to make it more free form stand alone jokes with some minor continuity kinda like with bagel man. It’s more about the little experiences than a coherent story.
Thank you, we’re both super excited! I’ll have soooooo much new material for the comic now!
