It was late at night, I was sitting at my desk in the living room when I heard some movement coming from the kitchen. The lights were on so I just go to the kitchen entrance and I saw a mouse run and hide into the crack by the stove. I knew I had a mouse trap there so I checked it. There was absolutely no bait in the trigger even though I knew I put some.
So I put some more and reset the trap. About an hour or two later that night I heard movement again. I went to the kitchen, didn’t see any movement but checked the trap just the same. NO PEANUT BUTTER. It was positively SPOTLESS. Hopefully by the time you read this the mouse has been killed, but I’m not super optimistic. Maybe time to get a different brand of mouse traps.

Lol I keep relating to your comics. a couple years back at work there was a mouse that got into a candy back my boss kept in her desk. We noticed he avoided all the other candy except for the kit kat bars. [Chocolate and peanut butter] so I set up traps in a bunch of places baited with kit kats. The next day, a few of them were picked clean without setting off the traps. Urked me lol.
Yeesh! Followup on my mousetrap. I came back after a weekend trip and again it was licked clean O_O
I’m starting to think mice have evolved passed the state of falling-victim-to-mousetraps. Lol
