For at least a week my 2nd alarm was set 45 minutes later than it normally is because one day I decided to sleep in. I think now I’m sleeping in because I’ve been lazy. In my defense, sleeping late is about 6:30 AM right now.

I drink significantly less since moving to the West Coast and especially Los Angeles for a number of reasons. First being that I get super dehydrated here, and second because I have to drive places. But for about a week I was having just a glass in order to relax after a long or tiring day of work. Then I realized I was less inclined to just jump up out of bed at my normal time. So I’m going to stop having that glass to see if that’s really the reason.
The other reason could be that I encourage Uni to crawl under the duvet when he’s bugging me in the morning, and having a warm cat resting beside you in bed kind of makes you want to not get out of bed 😛
We realized after going to bed that I had indeed taken Benadryl before I had drawn yesterday’s comic and this is probably a far more likely explanation for sudden drowsiness. That would explain why they said to take it right before going to bed 😛
We’ve been waiting for school to be over so that our mornings will be much quieter, but then it occurred to me that when we go to matinees now at the movies there’s a far greater chance that there will be kids at those movies. I think a little lost sleep is the lesser of two evils here.
If there really were such a thing as a definite last day for the world that everyone was 100% sure of, that would be one crazy scheduling nightmare. This is all assuming of course that society was at all functioning instead of people just going absolutely crazy.
Just imagine though, wanting to go to certain restaurants for your last meals and all the others who had the same idea as you. Also you probably would have to prioritize which friends you could see, and hope that they put you into their own plans so that you could kill two birds with one stone.
I wouldn’t really spend it playing video games, but I sure as heck would try my best to meet up with friends at my favorite restaurants and eat some damn fine burgers, sushi, ramen and a nice bagel with lox. I think I can pretty much guarantee that I would do my best to be absolutely stuffed by the end of that day.
So aside from friends and family what would your priorities be for the end of the world?
As I write this it’s 3:23 AM Wednesday morning and I feel fully awake. Granted I took a nap late afternoon, but yeah I’ll probably be real tired late afternoon again tomorrow. It’s okay though because I’m getting a lot of photoshop work on my trip photos done. The bad thing is that I don’t get channel 11 in our living room and Star Trek: TNG plays at 3 AM.
When we got to Japan it was during the evening and we ended up staying up late into the night eating and drinking with friends. This meant that we didn’t wake up at any weird hours, but for the next few days I was crashing hard at 8pm for which I blame jet lag and also very long days of a lot of walking and just doing a whole lot of stuff.
We got back to NYC yesterday around 2 pm and I went to sleep around 10:00. Though as I was watching House I nodded off a few times to the point that I realized as soon as my head hit the pillow I would instantly lose consciousness. Lots of photos to go through and lots of blogging to do. I’ll be sure to get some posted soon!
I used to take naps pretty regularly on Sundays. Actually I’m still finding myself taking naps on Sundays even though my work week doesn’t exist anymore. Maybe my body just likes getting really tired on Sundays. Or maybe my eating patterns on Sundays end up being different from other days which affects my energy level. Taking naps whenever I feel like it is a pretty awesome thing, especially because of how awake I usually am for the rest of the day or evening. That would be pretty awesome to work in one of those offices which allows naps. Then again, that kind of office would probably expect crazy hours so it’s a trade off.
I very rarely stay up that late, but sometimes Anna is up really really late working on plush projects so she made the discovery that on channel 11 they play TNG. It’s fun trying to figure out which episode was playing from her descriptions. There was one night I stayed up a little bit later just to see it on TV live. It ended up being Qpid which is where the quote in the fourth panel is from. I fell asleep around 3:30.
It wasn’t actually so late, but I did finally beat it last night. There’s more side mission stuff I’ll probably go back and do though. I’d say this is my official ranking for Final Fantasy games that I’ve beat (blasphemy I know, I haven’t beat any of the other ones).
I really really like the battle system in FFXIII but in the end the story is what made it teeter above or below FFX for most of the game. When I finished it though I decided as a whole the story didn’t come together as well so I put it below FFX. It’s tough because I I like the characters more than the characters in FFX, but I had real problems with the game’s world logic and the generous leaps in logic it seems they’re asking the player to make.
Anyway, I’ll write a full review later and post it on my blog.
