I did a previous strip about this same psychic that this one is about. I still have never been to a psychic, and don’t know that I ever will. This woman used to be on the street with her chair, but obviously now that it’s colder she just keeps the door to her business open and there are big signs outside of it. She’s always still open when I leave my martial arts school, and I’m curious as to both how late she actually opens and if anyone really comes in at a time that late at night. I suppose there must be some people since she still opens that late. Maybe she’s more dependent on the drunken impulse to finally go see a psychic. Curious.

There’s a $5 psychic reader nearby the martial arts school that I go to. One night the woman was out in the sidewalk doing her pitch. The rest happened exactly as it does here except I didn’t make a wiseass remark.
I love the line in the X-Files episode “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose” where the killer starts hurting the psychic and says “I’m sorry, but you’re a fortune teller. You should’ve seen this coming.”
