Actually this joke would work better for Super Mario Galaxy because that’s probably the next good Wii game that’s coming out. But I still have 15 or so stars left in that game to get before I “beat” it so it didn’t feel right.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was a very fun game albeit fairly easy. It’s definitely the easiest of the three Metroid Prime games, but still a heck of a lot of fun. Some of the set pieces in the game are really great to play through, it’s just not a very punishing game. In the other games the boss battles with Ridley, Meta-Ridley, Omega-Ridley etc were always very hard to the point of getting sweaty controller hands, but I beat that battle in only one try in this game. The hardest boss battle wasn’t even the last one either. I’m not sure if I should blame the game design or if the better controls just made it that much easier. I suppose playing the originals with Wii controls might help answer that, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment considering I already own the first two already.

Shortly after the game came out I had set it aside because some other game distracting me (possibly Final Fantasy XII I don’t remember) plus I was in one very annoying section of the game. So the past few weeks I’ve been playing nothing but Metroid Prime 3 at home because it was a travesty I’ve let it sit for so long. After I finished it though I realized just how long it’s been since a good Wii game came out. Last good one was probably Super Smash Bros Brawl. Kind of sad really that it became something of a joke system in a lot of ways. Maybe the Wii motion plus will make it more appealing to developers and it’ll get more unique games a la the Nintendo DS.

If it doesn’t then I guess we’ll just have to play Xbox while waiting for the next Nintendo game sequels.
