I don’t know anything about cars, but what I do know is that these boxy cars are some of the ugliest I’ve seen in recent memory. I have no idea what was going on in the minds of the people who designed this car or the people who BOUGHT this car. Are we moving back to boxy looking cars instead of the sleek smooth cars that we see in movies that take place in the future?

This is an easy way to figure out who are the tourists. Generally though you’ll only see it this exaggerated on weekends when there are a lot of them in the city, especially midtown. I was around Rockerfeller Center this last weekend and I was the only one crossing for a few seconds even though the street was clear. There were quite a few people waiting it out and then crossed. I’m not quite as hardcore as some of the other New Yorkers out there. Most people wait in the street instead of on the curb, but the ones who kind of scare me are the ones who cross so close to the cars that it almost looks like the back tires are going to run over their toes. I stay further back than that because it freaks me out.

I was in Chinatown yesterday when I witnessed a little rear ender. It wasn’t a serious accident, the most interesting thing that happened was that one of their license plates fell off. I was in a hurry to go somewhere, but even if I wasn’t I wouldn’t have stopped to watch like everyone else in a two block radius was quick to do. Really, after the collision the show is pretty much over. Unless you have some morbid hope that the two drivers will get angry at each other and start fighting, what’s the point in stopping to watch?
Note to self, Google Image Searching “car crash” is fine, Google Image Searching “rear ender” not so much. (NOT SAFE FOR WORK).

I cite this as an example of how video games can affect people’s minds, but it still takes a certain type of person to act upon it. The urge to beat up people on the street happens even without playing games so they can’t blame that one on GTA. The other thing I think about in addition to stealing cars is which ones would have better steering and handling. Though my real life perception of such things is probably not as good as it is in the game. That is, unless the game designers were good enough to have those car shapes be really accurate portrayals of their real life counterparts.

I had heard for a while about hummer limos but this was the first one that I actually saw. I have a friend who was telling me about how a hummer limo is one of the most godawful monstrosity of modern transportation in existence. I had only seen the van limos which were plenty disgusting in themselves, but this is a whole new level. I wonder what the mileage on one of these things is.

If this actually happened I can’t imagine the person would be so upset, because I would think the car was falling apart anyway so they’d be used to it. This was inspired by a moment I had when a friend said I should kick this car I noticed was parked in a bus stop. The “No Parking” sign I had to put together in pieces because it was just easier for me to draw the sign separate from the sign post. But it doesn’t look very good because the lines are different widths.
I actually have though about jogging in the morning especially after I started taking martial arts but I’m just not disciplined enough to do it. If anything I think my morning routine has become less disciplined. I used to shower an hour before I left, because I’d make breakfast and have a leisurely morning. Now I shower around half an hour before I go and buy breakfast at the deli by where I work. Mostly it’s because I like to sleep in some more and I’ve been staying up later.
