I had a gig recently that required commuting via the 405 which is a notoriously bad freeway to commute on. I quickly found out that the amount of time you spend on the 405 is pretty consistent. Sure there are tons of people and slowdown, but it didn’t vary all that much. No, what changed the commute time by 10-20 minutes just GETTING TO the 405.

So I started trying out Waze because it supposedly has better GPS navigation that’s crowdsourced etc. I’ll probably do more on Waze later, but during the week it was raining a lot this struck me as funny. Also, they have one “Warning: Fog up ahead.”
