I’ve often said to myself that kung fu is one of the few things I do where I don’t mind when I suck, and this is the conclusion I’ve come to as to why. Even when I was in class and had several friends whose skills I would look up to I never felt frustrated. And especially now that I’m only practicing on my own, as soon as I stop doing it I don’t have to stare it in the face.

But working on something creative like a trailer, motion design piece or video I have to stare at it in its incomplete state the whole way until it’s done and for a long time it’s something I just don’t want to look at. That’s definitely something I struggle with and hope at some point I figure out how to work past it regularly.
