I’ve been practicing my motion graphics work again recently because it’s something that I really really want to get better at. I’m pretty proud of how my motion graphics have improved over the years, but they’re still nowhere near as good as someone who does it for their main job. I think I’m a much better editor than motion graphics artist, but I still aspire to improve my skills.

I was doing my best to reverse engineer some motion graphics work I saw in some other trailers and alternating between small moments of success and bashing my head against the desk (not literally). But during the process of googling how to do certain things, some of the effects I found out were just plugins or scripts which I didn’t have. Those moments give me a glimmer of hope because there’s nothing more despairing than looking at something and having no earthly idea how it was made even at the most fundamental level.
