A useful thing to do if you’re doing stand up comedy open mics is to record your performance so that you can listen to it later. Being on stage can be a whirlwind so it’s very easy to forget what happened during it all, so recordings remind you where the laughs were (if any at all).

Listening to the recordings is still not something I’m used to and I get anxious every time I do it. I then take notes on whether jokes got laughs and the intensity of the laughs and based on that decide what needs changing or removal.
