Metal Gear Solid 2 was the first Metal Gear game I ever played (might’ve watched a friend play the NES game back when I was a kid). I played that and MGS3 on the PS2. Then new editions of both games came out with more stuff or some technical additions like the 3D camera in MGS3. I ended up getting that PS2 edition at Book-Off in New York just because it was cheap.

Then the HD Collection with Peacewalker came out for PS3 and Xbox 360 and I put it on my wishlist for a very very long time. It only came off because they announced that there’s a 25th anniversary edition coming out with MGS 1, 2, 3, 4, Peacewalker and the original NES games. I feel like my desire for old games is kind of turning into my desire for movies on disc. I put them on a wishlist and watch as a half dozen editions come and go without me buying at which point I start questioning whether I want or need them at all.

Man what I’d love though is versions of the games where the music volume can be turned all the way off, thus facilitating easier creation of Metal Gear Solid related videos and trailers.
