When we lived in New York we shopped as we needed which usually meant doing a little bit of shopping every day. Also you have to carry all your groceries home if you don’t have a cart of some sort, so there was a limit to how much you could have.

Out of a major city, things are more like this, but I’m still not quite in the habit of buying stuff in large quantities just yet. I’m sure that in not too long I’ll be taking up the supermarket on their 10 for $10 deals, but right now I feel sort of silly. Seriously though, there are so many things that I would never buy 10 or more at a time that are sold in those quantities. For example, bags of potato chips. Even if I was holding a big party, there’s no way they’d rip through 10 bags of chips. I shudder to think that there are people who think that 10 bags of chips aren’t a ridiculous thing to buy at one time.
