This past weekend I was messing around with my phone because there have been some things that didn’t work quite well ever since I rooted it and installed Cyanogenmod on it. Namely, my 4G connection didn’t work at all and my GPS had questionable results. So I decided it was time to finally fix it. After I updated it it mostly worked except for a few quirks. Then I tried changing the lockscreen wallpaper and suddenly it was stuck in a bootup loop that didn’t get past the logo.
Eventually I got it working, but until the time I got home I had a moment of incredible paranoia akin to this comic. I’m old enough that I know what it’s like to live without a smartphone, yet I still went through this whole thought process and realized the stupidity of it all. It’s funny how our devices make it so that we can find out where people are almost every second of the day, and once it’s shut down how isolated we can feel. Or is that just me?

Lol I’ve never had a smart phone, but I fried my normal cellphone by using the wrong charger, for a whole day I didn’t have it. No way to call anyone. It was terrible! But it’s my fault for not wanting a landline phone in my apartment.
Yeah, when my phone wasn’t working I immediately started thinking of different ways to communicate a message if necessary. I even thought of going to the Best Buy nearby and using one of their tablet computers which sometimes are on the wifi.
