I know that for some people peanut allergies area really serious thing, life threateningly serious even. It’s why they went from “may contain peanuts” to now going so far as saying something akin to “peanuts may have been nearby.” But this warning on the boxes of peanuts at Five Guys is the first I’ve seen of its type.

It’s basically saying that this is a controlled environment where peanuts are known to be around, by removing the peanuts you’re creating the possibility that people allergic to them will be exposed. It must suck to be allergic to peanuts, but I don’t imagine those people would expect no one to walk around with peanuts on their account. Would they?
