I know it’s a cliché the single person eating a tub of ice cream to comfort themselves when they’re feeling alone, but I wonder if ice cream sales really do go up on Valentine’s Day? I will investigate this tonight and report back later. I also if it depends on the region because I bet depending on where you are depends on how self conscious people are of being a cliché. Kind of like how I’m guessing the number of people having ironic Valentine’s Days varies according to your region.
I once had the most romantic valentine’s day with my then-girlfriend: we held a picknick on the beach. Being february, It was cold, damp, windy, sand ended up on our toasts but that was more than made up by the looks on everyone’s faces who did just a beach walk and was looking envious at us thinking “I wish I would’ve thought of that”.
