When I was a kid and I heard about the “ball drop” this is what I thought was going to happen. That at the last second of the old year, the ball would suddenly drop and then hit the bottom. Then I saw the actual thing dip slowly down until the last second. Needless to say I was severely disappointed and have continued to be every single year. I should just make my own makeshift ball and drop it so I can have the satisfaction.

Exact same thing happened to me. I was like, wow that huge ball drops?! And then when I saw what actually happens…
Haha awesome, now I feel the need to make some sort of thing related to this like a crude animation of the ball dropping like it always should’ve. Glad I wasn’t the only one though
Hah, I heard about the “ball drop” before but never knew what it was, I thought it was a figure of speech. Thx to this comic I looked it up and now I know what boring it it. But I thought that, as a true New Yorker, you didn’t go to times square
It’s true that New Yorkers usually go to Times Square to see the ball drop at most once in their lifetime. Even so, we still watch it drop on TV during New Years Eve.
