The guys at Best Buy always have to check your receipt on the way out. This I understand, but the guy at the door also does a little squiggle mark with his pen once they’ve checked it. I’m convinced this is just superfluous pen signage that is only there because it makes it feel more “official” that he checked it, whereas if he just looked at it and let you go then it could look like he’s not actually checking it. Maybe someone who works at Best Buy can explain this? Actually that reminds me that I actually do have a friend who used to work at Best Buy. Time to send him an email.

We almost got the same here, but its a stamp that said “Paid”
if they need to check the receipt (which I’ve never seen stores do before, isn’t it a bit much on it’s own?) wouldn’t they sign them so you can’t just go out give the receipt to a friend who goes in and gets the same for free or something?
Oh right, that’s a perfectly good reason, I feel stupid now for not thinking about it
I’ll still have to ask my friend for the official explanation
