You know a marketing buzzword has become a full blown phenomenon when it’s being used to describe things which totally cannot be logically be associated with the thing being advertised. A few years ago that marketing buzzword was HD. Now it’s 3D because animated and live-action 3D films are now the hot gimmick. When I was in a Duane Reade recently I saw Crest 3D Multi-Care Whitening Rinse. I suppose all mouthwash in the physical world is technically 3D, but I shudder to think about the people who were enticed to buy this product because it had “3D” written on it.

‘allo there,
I think what the marketing campaign was going for was a “shiny, 3D white” look / feel (as if your teeth could be anything other than 3D) rather than stating that the mouthwash itself was 3D.
People are weird though and will buy shiny 3D things…I suppose.
Hah, I was just discussing with a friend when the first Full HD toilet bowls would be available, but now I see a new opportunity – 3D toilet bowls.
And as for “greenwashing” – in the Netherlands they have lollypops which contain “0% fat” – they don’t tell that’s because they contain 99% sugar
BTW I love the “3d droplets coming toward viewer effect” you created!
Just wait ’till 4D comes out…….
They could use this strip as an ad…
