Since I was away during this weekend I didn’t see the new Star Trek, and probably won’t until this weekend. In that brief period of time a friend of mine has already seen it twice, and basically everyone else I know (geeks and non-geeks alike) it seems have seen it. I was waiting to see it with a friend of mine, but he decided he couldn’t wait for me so I guess that puts me on my own schedule, but I’m going to wait until this weekend.
Until then I’m existing outside of the bubble that surrounds those who have seen it. I don’t imagine there’s much to spoil in it since the trailer and TV spots give away the general story line. My only expectations are that it’ll be a big loud Hollywood film with Star Trek trappings. Anything beyond that will just be extra so I think despite the hype I’ll do fine.
