Since I’m a movie nerd, and have usually been informed about a movie I want to see at least a couple months in advance, the thought of going to the movies without knowing what I’m seeing is UNTHINKABLE. I don’t want to spend over $10 on something that I’m just going to see on a whim. Yet, so many times I go to the movie theater and I hear couples debating what to see because they clearly just decided they wanted to see a movie but have no idea what to go see. This is one reason why crappy movies get box office. Some person goes to the movie and knows nothing except maybe “Oh, Vince Vaughn is in this, I liked him in ‘Old School’ so maybe this will be good too!” The other reason being that the wide masses simply have no taste.
