This happens to me a lot in restaurants or elevators when I’m in close proximity to a group of friends. Someone will make a horribly unfunny joke, and they’ll all laugh either chuckling or just going completely nuts. Though I got to thinking, is it just that these people are actually horrible at making jokes or does it more have to do with the fact that I’m an outsider listening in on a conversation for which I have no context? Does this mean that when I make a joke at a restaurant or with a friend in an elevator everyone else is finding me equally unfunny and annoying?

Either way whenever there’s profuse laughter in this fashion I do have the urge to sarcastically start laughing along.

I couldn’t think of a sufficiently bad joke, but I knew I wanted to start it off with “so then I’m all like…” So I just typed it into Google. Only a certain type of person would start a sentence with that and I was able to find a hybrid of things to suit the comic.
