This wrinkled, yellow certificate actually does exist above the mailboxes in my apartment building. The first date on it is 1983 and the most recent one was 1988. I’m choosing to believe that there’s a more updated certificate somewhere else in the building. Though I think it would be more troubling if the elevator inspection certificate was this old, but that gets checked a few times a year when the elevator is having problems.
