Sometimes I think the DVD Store in Chinatown will the death of me. It’s this place on Mott Street below Canal with a yellow awning. The first years I went there the prices were pretty normal for DVDs. Then I went back a year or so later and they were all under $20. NOW a lot of thd older titles are SIX DOLLARS!! It’s really pretty sick. The newer stuff like “Infernal Affairs” is still only going to be thirteen or so dollars. So many of these Hong Kong films I either don’t have in my collection or haven’t even seen so it’s really hard to control the buying impulse in this place. Evil indeed.
