I have no doubts that the iPod Shuffle will have success and sell well, but part of me wonders why you would bother calling it an iPod at all. There’s no screen or trademark scroll wheel. It’s two very different schools of thinking. Anyone who would rather have the full featured iPod probably has no interest in the iPod Shuffle. But at the same time I think there might be people who are interested in it who have no interest in music libraries larger than a few gigabytes. Any of my friends who have at least an iPod mini pretty much think iPod shuffle is stupid. I’m in that camp, but I still think they’ll sell a number of them. If nothing else, due to sexiness factor and the ease of use. Probably more the former than the latter. We shall see.
