I went to see “The Passion of the Christ” and there was someone behind me whispering this. They actually thought that maybe the movie would be partially subtitled. If you’re a real movie buff you know that when a trailer shows no speech except a person laughing or screaming that the movie is in a foreign language. But I have to pull myself out sometimes to realize that not everyone understands that or reads up on movies to the degree that they know everything about it before they see it.

For a number of reasons I really didn’t like “The Passion of the Christ.” Firstly I’m not religious in the slightest so it did nothing for me on that level. From a pure storytelling point of view I didn’t care because I was in no way made to care for Christ as a character except for the natural feeling of sympathy you get when someone good is beaten to a bloody pulp. Plus the shot of his resurrection which seems to unintentionally set it up for a sequel entitled “The Revenge of the Christ.”
