To think that there are some people who watch the entire Times Square New Year’s Eve thingy. There was a joke I was once told about the whole event and how not a single real New Yorker has ever gone to that event. Scary thing is that it’s probably only a slight exaggeration. It’s kind of like how when I lived in Boston I never went to the top of the John Hancock building. I remember as a child being disappointed in the whole ball drop phenomenon. The reason being that I wanted the ball to drop SUDDENLY and then hit on midnight instead of the stupid sloooooow drop and then hitting at precisely midnight. I think they’re missing out on a golden opportunity.
