It’s really amazing to go to sleep out in the suburbs after living in New York. I don’t feel like my neighborhood is loud at all, but somehow when you get out of the city it’s just so much quieter. There must be some low sound bed that exists in the city on an unconscious level that is taken away once you’re far enough away. All I know is that whenever I went home and tried to go to sleep my ears would just be ringing like crazy. It’s as if they need some low amount of noise in order to process it as silence. Anything lower just can’t be interpreted. In a way it was louder going to sleep there than when I’m at home in New York.

This strip amuses my family because those are almost exactly the way that our doors of our old home looked.
