The other reason I like extreme cold over extreme heat is that heat is a big de-motivator. You don’t want to get out of bed, you don’t want to leave your fans or air conditioning, you don’t want to move quickly, in fact you don’t want to move at all. There’s a difference between not wanting to get up because you’re warm and toasty, and not wanting to get up because your brain is taking so long to start functioning. Maybe this is why I tend to get more motivated to shoot movies during the Winter instead of the Summertime when the weather is more conducive to it.

My parents owned a laserdisc and DVD store for sixteen years, and we did mail order all across the country. We knew that whenever a customer called from the South that they would take the longest because even if they knew what they wanted they would talk really slowly. Heat messes you up.
