Ah yes, to make a list of people who deserve a sound beating would take forever but these people would be somewhere around the top. Actually, they wouldn’t be as high up the rung as the people who get into the elevator with you and press the button for the next floor down. Honestly. I can almost understand people taking one floor up, but one floor down is just so incredibly lazy. This is why when I’m in an elevator going down and it stops on the 2nd or 3rd floor I say to myself that the person better be in a wheelchair or crutches.
The added insult to this in my work building is that there are two elevators: one fast which has a bell, one slow which has an electronic buzzer. The one that’s slow I’m guessing takes longer between consecutive floors than it takes floors that are two apart. The elevator moves down, waits for about ten to fifteen seconds, beeps and then opens up. Anyone who works in this building knows this very well, but we still get the people who WAIT for the elevator, get on, hit the button for one floor down and then get off.
