Sleeping on the subway is a tricky thing because obviously you don’t want to miss your stop so you can’t be entirely asleep. Though ironically some of the best rest I get is when I’m sitting up and have my head down on the subway. The sleep I initially get when I’m actually in bed can’t compare to that kind of sleep. I figure most New Yorkers who sleep on the subway are programmed to listen for certain things so that they don’t miss their stop.
