I hate hate hate Blockbuster. Blockbuster totally sucks. I do however have a membership which is how I know they totally suck. I hate the category system of organizing because the genre of a film can be very subjective. The other thing is that the people at Blockbuster are just complete morons which is why you have a film like “Goodfellas” sorted into the action section. So it works even less than a system like that should.
For the longest time I didn’t have a Blockbuster membership because I’m not in the habit of carrying proof of address with me (I don’t have a New York license) so I was always thwarted by that fact. So one day I had a phone bill and I was all set and ready, ended up going to a Blockbuster near my apartment. They didn’t ask for proof of address, go figure.
I drew this comic when I was in a restaurant with a borrowed ball point pen so the line quality is crappy. Plus the shirt looks weird on the clerk, I still haven’t come up with a very good look for when the characters wear shirts which is why I do it so seldom.
Plus I have no idea why I decided in this one case that the character needed a neck. In future strips, movie theater cashier people get to sit in chairs.
EDIT: I was writing the transcript for this comic when I realized panels 3 and 4 have been reversed for over two years now, it’s corrected now.
